We are glad that thanks to the close contact to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and
to the Metropolitan Water District, customers within the Californian region are now able to benefit
multiple times when purchasing the innovative and proven Jaeggi Hybrid Dry Cooler for retrofit installations.
While fresh water already now and especially in the future is and will be of even higher value,
the excessive use will be regulated, either due to increased prices and/or incentive programs.
The pro active approach of incentive programs is to encourage people to invest in water conservation products.
Therefore two programs had already been set up in Southern California, ready for participation:
-Technical Assistance Program (TAP) within the Los Angeles area
-Industrial Process Improvement Program (IPI) within the Metropolitan`s service area
Bottom line of each program is that rebates are provided to encourage customers to invest in
retrofitting existing equipment through more efficient products.
In any case, each project must meet the respective qualifying criteria and real water savings must be documented.
The attractive plus for the Los Angeles area is that these two programs are not either one, but go together.
E.g. 340 evap. tons retrofitted in LA, with a Jaeggi product could lead to a total incentive
amount of up to $11,000.00. (Air conditioning application under nominal US conditions and
Ashrae WYEC2 climate data)
Second benefit would be the real water savings, which could be as high as e.g. 1.8 million
gallons a year and a reduced sewer amount of 600,000 gallons (3 cycles blow down) for the mentioned application.
